Ethical standards to be followed by an astrologer
« on: October 08, 2015, 11:05:54 PM »
"Om Bhadram Karnebhih Shrnuyama Devah"

means - "May we Hear what is Auspicious, May we See what is Auspicious"

This aptly applies for an astrologer and a client/consultant. Just imagine how happy a client would be to hear good
news from an astrologer, and also how happy an astrologer would be to predict good things from a horoscope.

This does not mean, any bad news, or things perceived to be bad, must not be predicted or communicated to the native. Nobody can deny karma siddhanta. Nobody can deny fate.
But an astrologer knows that there are few predictions that must not be made in public, or must not be conveyed in a straight forward manner to the native.

There are a few code of ethics to be followed by an astrologer;

* Never needlessly frighten a client with extreme predictions, nor create false hopes in a client, and always affirm, that every astrological configuration can manifest in a variety of ways.

* Strive to support with sensitivity and respect all clients who come to us seeking astrological perspective or counsel, recognizing and encouraging their autonomy and supporting them in making their own decisions.

A list of code of ethics are established by the International Society for Astrological Research (I.S.A.R.)
We need not be members of I.S.A.R to follow these code of ethics.

Please read here http://www.isarastrology.com/images/EthicsV5.pdf

I solemnly request all fellow astrologers to follow these important guidelines.

Making this a sticky topic as the guidelines are important and every member is expected to strictly follow those.
