Title: Date of Birth and Time
Post by: pk on May 09, 2016, 12:46:32 PM
I was wondering how can one make sure that his time of birth is correct? Now a days we get perfect birth certificate with time including seconds also. But at the time of our birth and older days there was no such practise. So how can we decide the perfect time? Mostly those day they remember the time as a round figure such as they born on 11:33:32.77 they would consider it as 11:35 or 11:30. Does this lead to wrong reading of horoscope? How much deviation can be acceptable?
Thanks & Regards,

It depends on method used.

For a KP astrologer, a difference of one minute or sometimes difference of a few seconds will alter reading and prediction. Most of the good KP Practitioners use BTR (Birth Time Rectification) technique to check accuracy of given date and time (and also location).

Process of BTR involves using Ruling Planets which is considered equivalent to acceptance of Divine Guidance.

Lets take a case of twins born with a birth time difference of 3-4 minutes. Many Cuspal sub lords change in a matter of 4 minutes, and so will be the fate of twins, even though both may undergo same Dasa/Bukti/Antara and Transits. One may lead a healthy life where in other may suffer a chronic disease.

For a traditional astrologer or western astrologer, in most of the cases, minutes or seconds difference would not make a difference (unless Ascendant changes). There are a few points like Arabic parts used which change in matter of minutes which will alter the predictions for two twins, even in traditional and western astrology.

Traditional astrology also uses Birth Time Rectification process using Ghatis.

To summarize, a horoscope must be read only after rectification process, or alternatively Horary methods can be used.
